Welcome

First, we would like to thank you for being here and being a big part of our life. Your love and support means so much to us! Now where to begin. Most of you all know John and I had many mutual friends but our paths had not crossed until January 2008. From then on our love for each other grew at a steady pace and we knew our love was forever. As the years went by and we grew older and many vacations together, John and I finally became engaged December 2012. In March 2013 we decided we wanted to add to our household and rescue a dog. So in April 2013 we rescued Dozer, a fila brasilero/boxer mix. A 17 pound cute puppy who he and his litter mates had the Parvovirus and all survived but the carrier. Dozer is now a very happy and healthy 93lbs and finally starting to settle down! I could blame our long engagment on being so busy taking care of a crazy puppy, but I can't. After being engaged for a whole year without any talk of wedding plans due to our busy lives consuming us, we decided it was time to take the bull by horns and get moving on it (with A LOT of help from family and close friends). So there you have it. October 25th, 2014, save the date! Since John and I are already established home owners, we do not really need the usual wedding gifts. This site has made it possible to set up a honeymoon registry! We are going to a Sandals Resort in Jamaica for our honeymoon :) This site allows you to securely pay for the options/events/excursions we would like to partake in while in Jamaica. Check out "Our Registry" to see some of the things we want to do. Also, check the "Wedding Progress" section for the details and updates as they happen.

I'm sure by now you are wondering where we will be having our ceremony/reception. Well after going to many, many places that we thought would be the one, we put a deposit down on the perfect place for us. Homosassa Riverside Resort (aka monkey island).  Once our biggest hurdle had been jumped by getting our site, things really started to fall into place! Not long after that we secured our DJ for the event, Travis Lamle, owner/operator of Elite Sounds out of Hernando County. He is awesome, just saying. And now for the most recent update, our Photographer. You probably have seen some of the remarkable photos she has taken. Christine Kozlik, owner/photographer of Dove Photography. She has a such a great personality and I can hardly wait to see all the images she captures on our big day!! Since we are, well procrastinators, we just got our Engagement Photos done yesterday (4-13-13) from the small amount of the pictures she showed us from her camera, I can hardly hold my excitement back from seeing ALL of the images, but we must wait 2 weeks. Well that is all for now, keep an eye out in the mail for your "Save The Date" in the coming week or so!

It has been quite a while since I have updated you all on what is going on with the wedding planning. For the most exciting news, I GOT MY DRESS!!! YAYY! And I love it just as much. if not more than the day I first tried it on. I can hardly wait for you all to see it! Still working on the flower situation but it seems to be coming together.  I just need to start making decisions, and stop being a procrastinator!

Yesterday my wonderful mother, John and I met with Laura at Homosassa Riverside Resort regarding the ceremony and reception. One of the biggest decisions that was made was the food choices. The meal choices will be London Broil or Chicken Cordon Bleu. Children under 12 will be served a different meal that has not been completely confirmed but thinking it will be a Chicken Tenders meal. I need to ask a huge favor though, on the RSVP cards please respond with the number of "adults" as well as "children under 12". Adults can choose Beef or Chicken entree. I will need to know if your child under 12 will need a "Childs Meal" or not. I know a lot of our friends have infants that are not old enough to eat the food yet.

Now since we are on the RSVP topic, lets talk invitations. I have searched and searched for the perfect invitation and finally have some good prospects. I have some samples coming in the mail and am anxiously waiting for their arrival. Time is ticking and I have to get those things out so you can send them back in. Hmm I bet you are wondering now WHEN will you need to send the RSVP cards back?? As of right now its not completely official until it goes on paper but it looks like I am going to go with September 17th. This way it give me plenty of time to get the numbers and try to get ahold of the slackers who will forget to send them back in. But im warning you now, if you don't send in your RSVP and I have to hunt you down, you probably will not get a chair at the ceremony! Just kidding, well maybe I'm not, either way just send it in on time so I dont have to become Bridezilla.

Also I would like to remind you about our Honeymoon Registry. Since John and I have been together for quite some time, we have opted out on doing the ever so familiar WEDDING REGISTRY. That was so the 1990s thing to do. Nowadays we have the good ol world wide web. Please check out our HONEYMOON registry by clicking "Our Registry" in the top left corner of the page. The great thing about it is you can actually help us get the honeymoon of our dreams with your gift! Check it out.  I would hate to see you spend money on some sort of fancy bowl or restuarant gift card that probably will not get the use that you would like to see it get. Through my mothers travel agency we were able to upgrade our honeymoon to a different Sandals location in Jamaica. We are now going to spend several days and nights in the Montego Bay Sandals Resort. We are both getting EXTREMELY excited about it, maybe even more excited about that than the wedding. Just kidding!!  I can not wait to exchange vows with the man I get to spend the rest of my life with. Okay well I do believe that is all the updating that I have for you today. I hope you all are looking forward to October 25th as much I am. Talk to you soon!
